In early 1997 BBJ moved to Orlando is search of a more suitable scene for their music and quickly became known in town for their high energy live shows. After creating a sizable following, BBJ released "Deep Within the Irrational Behavior Ward" in November of that year. Recorded and mastered in only seven days and containing 19 catchy songs with a sound uniquely their own. It garnered rave reviews from the public and local music critics. Here's what a few have said...
"...Bring Back Joel is essentially their own entity. Slightly insane, dizzying, very tight and dare I say...? Original." (JAM Magazine)
"With proper production, there may be a slew of singles good enough for the pop/punk/ska radio of today. And if mainstream radio disagrees, then this band will own the college stations throughout the Southeast. Be careful not to ignore this one." (Axis Magazine)
"I have yet to see a local band deliver a performance as energetic, as raw, or as infectious as Bring Back Joel. ... Bring Back Joel is the kind of band that will make you remember why you love rock and roll. Somebody give these guys a record contract!" (Nightlife Orlando)
"It's nice to know that even this late in the 90s, when "alternative" music is really just top 40 mainstream rock, to discover a group that really embodies what "alternative" is all about. Bring Back Joel... employs vocal samples, distorted guitars, and other things to prove that rock music doesn't have to be boring anymore" (Buzz Magazine)
BBJ continues on in the fight for clever pop music and a TV in every home.
